Samsung Galaxy S8+ which was launched last week at an event in New York will also come with 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage option. However, this variant will be limited to some select regions. First spotted by Android Headlines, the 6GB RAM variant of Samsung Galaxy S8+ was found listed on company's South Korean website. Interestingly, Samsung might give away the DeX dock accessory for pre-orders, however, this might change once the device becomes official.
In terms of specifications, this 6GB variant of the device will be identical to the regular Galaxy S8+ barring the RAM and internal storage. To brief you out about the specs, the Galaxy S8 Plus comes with a 6.2-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED Infinity Display which is curved on both the edges. On the inside, we have Samsung's Exynos 8895 chipset or Snapdragon 835 platform (which is clocked at 2.35 GHz) depending on where you live. The device runs on Android 7.0 Nougat and will pack a 3500 mAh battery inside.
For the camera, Samsung seems to have gone with the same sensor as on Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. At the back, we have a 12-megapixel sensor with Dual Pixel technology and aperture f/1.7 and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with smart autofocus and aperture f/1.7.MP F1.7 Smart autofocus front camera. On the connectivity front, both the devices support Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, USB Type-C, GPS, GLONASS and 4G LTE. The Galaxy S8+ measures 159.5 x 73.4 x 8.1 mm and 173g.
Nothing has been out for the pricing of this 6GB RAM variant, however, some reports suggest that it might cross the $1000 mark. Meanwhile, all the major carriers in the US and UK has already announced the pricing of both the devices. Starting with US carrier Verizon, the company is offering the Galaxy S8 for $720 (approx. Rs 46753) or $30 per month for 24 months, while the S8+ goes for $840 (approx. Rs 54545) or $35 for 24 months. Verizon also stated that those who are opting for pre-orders will get the Gear VR with controller and Oculus content pack. A limited edition premium bundle which adds a 256GB memory card and Bluetooth headphones by AKG will also be available for $99.
